about me

I’m too scared to add it up…

I've been pushing the boundaries of design for about 15 years now. Who's really counting though? (I must confess, with each year, my birthday cakes are starting to look more like a fire hazard. But hey, that's just the mark of my seasoned journey in design.)

From my beginnings in China to my current home in Sydney, armed with degrees from Central China Normal University and UNSW, and enriched by a dash of creativity from Germany, I'm on a mission to meld the essence of traditional and urban aesthetics, bridging East and West through my designs.

My creative pursuits go beyond the digital world. My work in ceramics, photography, and printmaking pays homage to the tangible, a salute to the artistic vision influenced by the masters who've inspired me—Dieter Rams and his philosophy of less-but-better, Kenya Hara's quest for transcendent simplicity, a hint of William Morris's arts and crafts idealism, and the groundbreaking visions of Bauhaus.

For me, design is more than just about appearances; it's about crafting purposeful, transformative solutions. My creations straddle the line between ancient wisdom and contemporary flair, producing outcomes that aren't just effective, but truly captivating.
